The Famous Facebook social network celebrates 9th Birthday today. It was started on 4th Feb,2004in Harvard University by Mr.Mark Zuckerberg with his four friends. They are, Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum and Chris Hughes. First they created www.thefacebook.com in earlier days, then they decided change to Facebook.com.

Mark Zuckerberg began facebook as his hobby project was initially with his university. They he expand to other universities and colleges in USA. Facebook started towards success path with big success. Microsoft Inc., bought a 1.6% stake in Facebook for $240M. Search Engine Google offered partnership deal with Facebook. But the deal was rejected by Facebook due to some reasons.  In may 2012, Facebook was valued at over $100 Billion after IPO (Initial Public Offer in Stock Market).

Facebook Co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new graph search feature in Facebook. Graph search tool utilize social data to compile results for facebook users. Facebook cards and voice calling on iPhone in US to attract their users. Facebook mobile edition is more active than desktop application. It supported majority of modern phones like iphone, blackberry and etc.,

Though fantastic growth, Facebook has controversial about people privacy, children’s education, youth spend more time on internet and hacking attacks.¬†Facebook has majority of user accounts in USA,Brazil,India,Mexico and Indonesia. It has competition with twitter, Google+ and Linkein social networks. Facebook shares and liks are most important in Google search algorithms now-a-days. A 2011 movie called The Social Network chronicled the events that led to the inception of Facebook as well as the involvement of tech titans like Sean Parker (co-founder of Napster) and Peter Thiel (co-founder of PayPal) with Facebook. The movie was nominated for eight Oscars and won three.
