Dozens of people helped rescue a fellow commuter in Australia by pushing against train carriages to free the man whose foot had slipped between the platform and the train.

Closed-circuit footage released by the Western Australia State Public Transport Authority showed the man lost his footing while boarding the train at a station in the city of Perth on Wednesday.

Transperth spokesman David Hynes told ABC Australia the driver was told not to move as passengers and staff attempted to free the man.

“Then our staff… got the passengers, and there were lots of them, off the train, and organized them to sort of rock, tilt the train backwards away from the platform so they were able to get him out and rescue him,” Hynes said.

Incredible video footage showed dozens of concerned commuters as they waited patiently for train officials to free the man, but to no avail.

That’s when the noble travelers decide to take matters into their own hands. Lining up along the side of the train with their hands on the cars, they begin to push with all their might, amazingly tilting it completely off the trapped man.
